User accounts
Every person on MontBlancAI has a user account identified by their email address. A user account can be a member of several organizations, but works in one active organization at a time — switching organizations switches all teams, roles, permissions, and data to the selected one.
If your organization has connected Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), users can also sign in through your company's identity provider, and team memberships can be synchronized automatically.
Setting up Azure Tenant ID for sync:
Once you enter Azure Tenant ID from EntraID, you can go to Azure Entra ID connection segment and click on Connect:
Which will then provide you with admin consent link. If you are Entra ID administrator at the same time, you can use this link to grant admin-consent to our application in your system. Otherwise, share the link with your Entra ID administrator to grant access and assign Groups and Users to this app
Once admin has granted access in Entra ID, click on Verify Consent and that will verify our apps access to your Entra ID:
Last step is then to either enable automatic syncs on the Organization settings 'Automatic Azre Entra ID Sync' toggle, or click on 'Sync From Azure' in the Teams datagrid:
After sync is completed, there are 2 new teams: 'Demo Group 1' and 'Demo Group 2'
Inviting users
Users join an organization by invitation. Invitations can be sent by organization owners, organization admins, or members holding the user management permission.
When you invite someone you can immediately place them into teams and, optionally, assign specific roles within those teams — so new colleagues arrive with the right access from day one.
What happens next depends on the invitee:
New to MontBlancAI — an account is created and they receive an invitation email. They complete registration by setting up their login. The invitation is marked accepted when they first sign in.
Already on MontBlancAI (member of another organization) — they're added to your organization right away and can switch to it immediately.
Either way, the invitee is automatically added to the organization's Default team, which gives them the baseline product access every member has (see How access control works).
Deactivating users
Administrators can deactivate a user in the organization. Deactivated users can no longer sign in or receive notifications. If a deactivated user is invited again, their account is reactivated with its previous identity.
